So it&#8217;s not just about being physically present, but about being really present inside. <\/p><p>Typical characteristics of emotionally available people are:<\/p><ul><li>real listening, not just on the side<\/li><li>Interest in the other person&#8217;s feelings<\/li><li>sharing one&#8217;s own emotions \u2013 even small insecurities<\/li><li>Allowing closeness without having to play everything perfectly<\/li><\/ul><p>If this emotional accessibility is missing, the feeling often arises <em>&#8220;<\/em>My partner is no longer really there.&#8221; Many also no <a href=\"https:\/\/lieblingundschatz.de\/en\/blog\/seeing-your-partner-and-feeling-seen\/\"><u>longer feel seen in the relationship<\/u><\/a>. Sounds complicated, but it&#8217;s actually simple: It means that the other person&#8217;s signals reach you \u2013 and vice versa. <\/p><p>If a person is emotionally connected:<\/p><ul><li>she reacts to feelings<\/li><li>shows understanding<\/li><li>opens up for talks<\/li><\/ul><p>If this connectivity is missing, signals will come to nothing. You feel alone, even when you&#8217;re together. Many couples then say that they simply no longer felt connected.  <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section up<\/li><li>Withdrawal and uncertainty are increasing<\/li><li>Closeness and trust are lost<\/li><\/ul><p>In short, the relationship feels empty \u2013 and you don&#8217;t understand why until late.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section In couples counseling, we often recommend the following steps: <\/p><ol><li><strong>  Perceiving what&#8217;s going on<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">The first step: Recognizing where distance patterns lurk.<\/p><ol start=\"2\"><li><strong>  Expressing feelings<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Only shared feelings can be answered.<\/p><ol start=\"3\"><li><strong>  Being vulnerable<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Small, honest insights \u2013 such as &#8220;I feel insecure right now&#8221; \u2013 create real closeness.<\/p><ol start=\"4\"><li><strong>  Listen properly<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Don&#8217;t offer solutions immediately, but first understand them.<\/p><ol start=\"5\"><li><strong>  Rituals for closeness<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Short daily check-ins or a joint ritual strengthen the emotional connection in the long term.<\/p><ol start=\"6\"><li><strong>  Open up to outside help:<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Couples counseling creates a safe space where you and your partner can learn to reach each other emotionally again.
